Between us, we have lived in Switzerland for almost 30 years and have developed a passion for the Alps. We have made over a thousand hikes in this time – from relaxing strolls, to half-day hikes to multi-day epics.
About Alastair
I was born in England, moved to Switzerland in 1999 and initially did not even own a pair of hiking boots.
My first hike was from Meiringen to Grindlewald over the Kleine Scheidegg with views of the Eiger. Incredible scenery and after this I was hooked!
Initially I always tried to find the longest, highest and hardest hikes, but now – maybe age is a factor – I am equally happy hiking shorter, easier and more relaxing hikes – but still makes epic hikes now and again.
About Elke
I was born in one of the flattest areas of Germany and moved to Switzerland in 2007.
I have always enjoyed more relaxing hikes, especially those with wonderful flora and fauna passing through pretty alpine villages.
But I have also reached the highest peaks of Austria, Italy, Germany and many more, so do know my way up and down a mountain!
