The Rohrspitz
Easy stroll on the edge of the Bodensee
If you fancy a short, easy stroll in a nature reserve alongside the Bodensee then this is perfect! Remember to take your binoculars to spot the local birdlife - it's a real haven for wildlife...
This is a circular hike starting from Seerestaurant Glashaus, Am See, Höchst, Austria in Vorarlberg (western Austria).

This is a lovely little walk into the heart of the Rheindelta nature reserve that has an almost maritime character and starts and ends at a restaurant.
Start the walk at Rohr, where there is plenty of room for parking at the Glashaus Restaurant. Make your way close to the shore and then turn right along the water.
The path leads along the water for a while until it reaches Rohrspitz Yachting habor. There is also a restaurant and a campsite here.
Walk around the harbor and then chose the left path at the fork. The path now leads through a marshy area and across the meadows you can see a number of stilt houses, some of them even having their own bridge to get to.
Soon the path leads back to the lake shore and is now framed by reed, but opens up enough to allow some great views of the lake and on clear days of the Austrian mountains.
Along the shore of the lake there is the occasional hut, each with their own outhouse a few meters away through the reed.
At the last hut the path ends. Turn around and follow the same way back along the lake. Soon enough you will be back at the harbor where you have the choice between two restaurants for a drink or ice cream to end the walk.
We did not find any places for food or accomodation on this hike. Take your own supplies!
