Absolutely stunning Dolomiten hike to the Drei Zinnen and around the Einserkofel
Possibly one of the most stunning hikes we have written about - simply glorious views of the Dolomites passing within touching distance of the famous Drei Zinnen.
This is a circular hike starting from Parkplatz Fischleinbodenhütte in South Tyrol (the Dolomites, Italy).

Quite simply this is a super-stunning hike! We parked at the Fischleinbodenhütte and headed towards the Talschlusshütte. We then turned right along the beautiful Altensteiner Tal – it was still early and we finally saw the first sign of the sun around 09:00.
Shortly before the Drei Zinnen Hut, we came to the amazingly coloured Bödenseen lakes…
… and then shortly after arrived at the famous hut with the 3 peaks of the Drei Zinnen themselves behind.
After a drink enjoying the jaw-dropping views we headed along the tourist track to the Paternsattel below the peaks. Expect a LOT of people along here – the road behind allows people to drive to almost the Drei Zinnen – but nevertheless this does not take away from how stunning the mountains are.
Before passing over the Paternsattel, do turn around for a last view of the Drei Zinnen Hut.
We then headed towards the Büllele Joch – immediately leaving the crowds behind. Wow! This part of the hike is SO stunning…
… views left, right and center!
We then entered the area close to the Büllele Joch hut where the activities from the first World War can still be seen.
After the Büllele Joch hut, we started to head down towards the Zsigmondyhütte underneath the very impressive Zwölferkofel.
The views on this hike simply don’t stop – even after the hut and heading down into the Bacherntal…
… and we then finally arrived back at the start after 8 hours. A long hike which can broken into separate days – but simply stunning!
