Wonderful hike across the meadows of Liechtenstein
A lovely stroll through Liechtenstein meadows and up to the peak of Plattaspitz with great views of the Rhine valley. Perfect on a sunny afternoon!
This is a circular hike starting from Triesenberg, Rizlina in Liechtenstein (north-east Switzerland).

We wanted a shorter, easy hike, but of course great views. So decided to make a hike above Liechtenstein which guaranteed a panorama of the Rhine valley. We parked in Rizlina and there is a bus stop if using public transport. We left the car and wandered through the very pretty meadows…
… dotted with wooden huts and some cows taking it easy.
Slowly we wandered uphill and passed the Silum Berggasthaus and towards Bärgällasatell with wonderful views of the Rhine valley.
On the other side of the pass is the middle point of Liechtenstein – a little down the hill and marked by a post if you like to visit.
We turned sharp right and headed up over an unmarked peak of 1812m and then on to Plattaspitz. Take some care here – it is a little steep and a little exposed but not too serious. But it’s worth to get to – the views are fantastic!
After enjoying a break we headed off downhill. There is a more direct route straight back to Rizlina, but we had enjoyed the meadows and views so much on the way up, we re-traced part of the route back to car.
We were than back at the car after about 3 hours – a lovely way to spend an afternoon!
