Laui – Lütispitze (1986m) – Chueboden – Laui

This hike starts in the picture-book area of Laui above Unterwasser – the hike hadn’t even started and we had these great views!

We then headed towards Gräppelensee. This is a stunning area at any time of year, but in mid-September, when we did this hike, is was tinged with orange. Beautiful.

Before reaching the lake we turned right and headed towards Winkfeel – the views towards Churfirsten had grown!

Shortly after we reached the self-service hut of Alpbeizli – a very small, but very cute hut where an honesty system allows you to buy drinks and ice-cream.

After Alpbeizli, it was steeper uphill to Windenpass…

… and then steeper again on the ascent to Lütispitze. After 50 minutes of sweating our way uphill (it was a very warm September day) we reached the final broad ridge to the peak and could enjoy 360° views.

After enjoying a well-earned lunch we retraced our steps to Foggboden where we turned right and had lovely views again of Gräppelensee – this time with the Wildhuer Schofberg in the distance.

After passing the lake, we turned right and headed over the small gap of Chrinn. This brought us into the meadows above Unterwasser and panoramic views of the Churfirsten and along the Toggennburg valley.

We then turned left, headed back to Laui and could marvel at the intricate geology of the Alpstein area.

We arrived back at the car and enjoyed a drink from the kiosk, once more marvelling at the prettiness of Laui. A beautiful hike!
