This was a lovely afternoon stroll in an area we had never visited even after 20 years in Switzerland. We drove through Bad Ragaz and Pfäfers to the pretty village on a plateau above the Rhine valley – St Margrethenberg. Autumn was certainly in the air with trees loaded with fruit.
After leaving the village we took the left path and headed up through the woods towards the peak of Pizalun. It was through the woods for 45 minutes or so and then we came out into grassy areas before reaching the ladder leading to the peak.
The views are incredible in all directions! To the north…
and to the south…
After enjoying the views we headed down through more open spaces and woods and passed Stefi’s Bergwirtschaft for a drink.
After this we reached the very quiet road, turned right and headed back to St Margrethenberg.
We were then back in the village after a very pleasant afternoon’s wander!
