This wonderful stroll starts in Rebstein and as it slowly heads uphill the fantastic views quickly open up looking further up the Rhine valley and across to Austria.
The hike gently wanders along the valley. Above Marbach the walk passes the Schloss Weinstein – a recently renovated restaurant in an ancient castle and then above Lüchingen.
There are not only pretty villages, stunning views and flora to enjoy, there is also the local wildlife. Maybe not always so wild.
And you may see some slightly different looking Swiss cows!
After 2 to 3 hours you will arrive in Altstätten. Plenty of buses regularly run along the valley to make it easy to return to Rebstein.
