This gentle stroll passes by a number of ruined Schloss (castles) dotted along the Rhine valley between Sevelen and Trübbach. Even if you’re not interested in ruined castles, it’s still a lovely wander! We parked in Sevelen, headed slightly uphill and headed along broad forest tracks towards Gretschins with lovely views of the Liechtenstein and Austrian alps.

We soon came to the first Schloss – Ruina Procha Burg (nothing there!) and to the more impressive Bergruine Wartau.

We passed Fontnas…

and then continued onto Azmoos. We enjoyed some lovely views up to the mountain of Gauschla above the village.

At Trübbach we turned right and headed towards Malans and on towards Oberschan. It really is a lovely area with broad meadows and lovely views.

After Oberschan we headed back into the woods – glorious autumnal colours.

We then wandered down the impressive and rocky Geissbergtobel back towards where we started.

A lovely half day stroll!
