Easy downhill stroll through larch forests with magnificent views of the Dolomites
A really easy downhill stroll with great views of the Dolomites passing through beautiful larch forests to the aptly named Lärchenhütte restaurant. Perfect!

This is a wonderful, easy hike for everyone – with amazing views for such a simple hike. This hike is based on a longer hike we made, but it is such a beautiful area, we decided to write about a shorter hike which anyone can do.
Take the Monte Elmo gondola to the Helm restaurant. This is a great place if you have children with you – plenty of slides and attractions for them.
After enjoying the views, simply head down the hill towards Moos. Swing left around the restaurant onto track 136, which later turns into track 3. You’ll enjoy wonderful views of the Dolomites all the way down!
It’s an easy, easy hike on wide forest paths. After less than an hour, you’ll reach the Lärchenhütte. It’s beautifully located amongst the larch trees – a perfect place for a break.
After this, continue to follow the forest track. It later turns to asphalt but it is a quiet road with only a couple of tractors passing by. Towards the bottom there are several ways back to the valley station of the gondola – a lovely hike!
