Flims is best known for skiing, boarding and downhill biking. But don’t let this put you off! With this hike, you’ll barely notice any of this – the hike heads over the amazing Crap da Flem plateau well aware from the infrastructure.

After parking in Flims we took the 2 chair lifts up to Naraus. We then traversed across the slope…

to Plaun Segnas Sut. This is an amazing flat area surrounded by crumbling peaks. And you will get a view of St Martins Loch

We then headed uphill along the broad ridge enjoying the views left and right.

From Bargis, you can take a bus back to Flims – but if your legs are up for it, it’s worth to walk back. You’ll pass through Fidaz and have lovely views over the Vorderrhein valley…

And we were lucky! It was Flims balloon festival so we got to watch the balloons taking off!

Segnes Hut

Segnes Hut

(Food and accommodation)

The Segneshütte, one of the oldest mountain huts in the region at an altitude of 2'100 meters above sea level, is located in the middle of the Tectonic Arena Sardona on the lower Segnesboden. From the sun terrace you can admire the Glarner Hauptüberschiebung with the Tschingelhörner and the Martinsloch. On the valley side, there is also a beautiful view of the Flimserstein, from which fell about 10,000 years ago, the large Alpine landslide.
