We got the train to Guarda – a beautiful Engadin village awarded a prize for its architecture. It’s well worth to spend some time in the village before or after this hike.

Once we had had a good look around we headed into Val Tuoi. Simply beautiful! We REALLY recommend to do this hike in the last 2 weeks of October for the stunning autumnal colours.

It’s a lovely gentle uphill stroll along the valley…

and after around 2 hours we reached the Chamonna Tuoi, perched under Piz Buin.

We turned right at the hut and headed towards Furcletta – there was a lovely little lake half way up.

About an hour after the hut we reached the Furcletta pass – an ideal spot for lunch.

It’s a little steep and loose down from the Furcletta, so take care and there was then a little rock-hopping. Keep your eyes open for the red and white markers.

After around an hour we reached the area of Valmala where 3 valleys meet.

It was then a stroll down Val Tasna following the river…

… and returning to the colourful world of larch trees.

Once out of the valley we reached the quiet road between Ftan and Ardez, and headed towards Ardez – still beautiful.

We then entered into Ardez – another village worth to spend some time to explore…
