This glorious, glorious hike up to Piz Colm starts in the charming Graubünden village of Tinizong. It heads up the quiet, beautiful Val d’Err and then returns with great views across to Piz Platta and the surrounding mountains.

You can park in the village of Tinizong but places can be difficult to find. If you’re not sure, head towards the football field “downhill” from the village and you’ll find parking there. Or better, take the wonderful Postbus.

Leave the village by heading along the tarmac road towards the hamlet of Pensa. As you walk up, take a glance back to Tinizong.

You won’t actually reach the pretty hamlet of Pensa but nevertheless it’s already a very, very pretty area.

Heading up towards Mont d’Err

Continue hiking up to Motta d’Err and once you reach here, you’ll be close to entering into the even quieter section of Val d’Err. It’s very, very pretty!

While following the bubbling river, watch carefully for the path heading off towards the right towards Paresttens. If you end up in Alp d’Err, you missed the turn! The path heads up steeply towards Parsettens through beautiful meadows and if you’re lucky, there will be plenty of cows with the mandatory Swiss cow bells.

Parsettens

From here if it’s not much further to Furschela da Colm. Once you get there, take the left path, which winds away gently up and down towards Piz Colm.

After around 40 minutes, you’ll come to Pt 2440. From here it’s a 5-10 minute stroll to Piz Colm at 2414m – well worth it!

From Piz Colm it’s mostly downhill towards Tgalucas, which leads you through an extremely stunning area. While walking through flower-filled meadows, enjoy the amazing views in all directions!

Heading towards Tgalucas

Once arriving in the village of Tgalucas, you can find a farm selling drinks and a small farm shop selling meat and cheese.

Now turn right and head towards the Lais Blos which is another beautiful stretch on this hike!

After Lais Blois the path undulates through pine forests and meadows. After less than an hour you’ll see Alp digl Plaz.

You’ll now continue through meadows downhill towards Plaz Beischen. While walking through these beautiful open areas, watch out for butterflies – they’re very friendly!

Just saying hello!

Its then an easy downhill path through woods to Vardaval. Cross the busy main road back into the meadows leading back to Tinizong.

Heading back towards Tinizong

Follow the river Gelgia for a few hundred meters and you’ll be back in Tinizong. Find a place for an ice-cream and think back on a wonderful hike!
