Seewis – Guora – Vilan (2375m) – Fulli – Seewis

Vilan is a 2375m high mountain at the entrance of Prättigau. The hike from Seewis to it’s summit offers stunning views all the way up. Once reaching the top, you can see the Churfirsten, Piz Bernina and Ringelspitz, the highest mountain of the canton St. Gallen.

Start from the beautiful village of Seewis, where there is a parking garage just opposite the church. From here, make your way uphill through the village and then walk up the quiet road towards Fallider. After passing a small stream on the road, the path turns off to the left and leads up to Fallider.

In Fallider, turn left and follow the path towards Guora. Here you will find a couple of cute huts and a fantastic view of Schesaplana. After reaching the huts, turn left and make your way uphill through steep fields and some cows.

Just before Sadreinegg you will arrive at an intersection, where you could turn left towards Älpi, with it’s gondola to Malans. Instead, keep going straight uphill through the huts of Sadreinegg.

From Sadreinegg the path leads along a wide ridge towards an advanced summit, marked with a cairn. Although this is not yet the top, the views from here are already stunning.

From here there are only another 200 hm left to the summit of Vilan. Keep walking along the ridge and enjoy the views.

At the top of Vilan you will find a hiking sign, a ski stand and a bench. And while there is no cross at the top, the 360 degree views make up for this deficit.

Once you are done marveling at the views, make your way downhill. Start along the path the you came up until about 100 m past the cairn. Here a path leads off to the right, passing through some avalanche barriers. Follow the path to a set of huts where you turn right.

Continue downhill through open meadows and past a number of huts and farmhouses. Keep following the signs towards Fulli.

On the way down you will cross the quiet road a few times until following it into Fulli. Once you reach the cross road in Fulli, turn left towards Seewis. Now it’s along the road all the way back into Seewis, where you can enjoy a lovely stroll through the village back to the parking garage.
