This hike over 7 peaks and viewing of 14 lakes can be started by taking the mountain transport to the Maschgenkamm (2073m) – but we decided to hike from Tannenboden to Prodkamm (1945m). It is worth to start the hike from Prodkamm – and there is a chair lift if you don’t fancy the hike up.
There is a beautiful flower filled route from Prodkamm to Maschgenkamm with sign boards indicating which flowers to look out for.
Almost immediately after leaving Maschgenkamm we were on the first peak – Zigler (2073m). It was then a shortish walk to the second peak – Leist (2165m).
This really is a great hike – up and down between peaks and continual views – fantastic.
After the peak of Mütschüelergulmen (2315m) the hike swung to the right and we headed back towards Flumserberg. The views changed and we were now looking towards the mountains over the Walensee.
The hike continued to roll up and down, passing the occasional farmhouse. There were even traces of winter in the small lakes close to Munzfurgglen.
Close to Chrüzen (1904m), we got our first glimpse of the stunningly coloured Walensee. From Grosser Güslen (1842m) there were 180° views – the hike is worth it for even only this view!
Finally heading downhill, we passed the final 3 lakes on this grand tour – Heusee, Grosssee and Schwarzsee. The Seebenalp is positioned on the Grosssee – a perfect location to celebrate (almost) the end of the hike.
It was then a gentle (mostly) downhill stroll to the finish at Tannenboden. A great hike!
