Search for a hike

We wanted to hike up Besler - a lovely peak close to the Riedbergpass in Allgäu. To avoid the noise of the busy pass road we decided to start in Austria, cycle to Rohrmoos and hike up from the south side - a real international hike!

This is a beautiful hike starting on the western Austrian / southern German border with bubbling streams, cute villages, stunning views of the alps and an ice cream at the end. A perfect outing for the whole family!

In total the Rhine valley high path (Höhenweg) runs all the way from Rorschach to Sargans. But it can be easily broken down into smaller easy stages. The stage from Rebstein to Altstätten is one of the prettiest and sunniest.

The Brenta Dolomites area in north-east Italy is quieter than the "regular" Dolomites, but wow - they are just as stunning. This hike is certainly no walk in the park - long, steep and some pretty exposed sections. Only take on this hike if you are very experienced and confident. But it is spectacular!

The Butterloch is an impressive gorge on the western edge of the Dolomites in north-east Italy. It is an easy hike and especially beautiful in late Autumn when the larch trees are their most colourful. Go enjoy!

This a lovely, lovely stroll. Starting in beautiful Ascona it follows the shore of Lago Maggiore to the pretty town of Brissago. Frequent ferries will bring you back to Ascona with the option to stop off on the Isola Brissago.

We wanted to spend a day and a half exploring one of the very quiet areas of Tessin. We chose to hike up to Pizzo Campo Tencia with an overnight in the very rustic Corta Mez. A real experience!

New Years Day 2016, a severe shortage snow and heavy fog in the Rhine valley. So we decided to hike up to Kronberg in Appenzellerland and hope, hope, hope we would be able to get above the fog... We were lucky!

An amazing hike - even for a day when the weather is not so great. Hike along the dramatic Viamala gorge in Graubünden starting from Thusis and ending in Zillis. Be prepared to be impressed!

This is a beautiful hike visiting 5 stunning Alpine lakes in north Tessin, Switzerland. It's a long of hike of around 8 hours but with 4 mountain huts en route, there are plenty of places to stop, relax and enjoy the views. Wonderful!

The Hohe Kugel in Vorarlberg, western Austria can be hiked from many directions. The route from the Fraxern football field is one of the best with views over the Rhine valley all the way to the summit. Perfect!

In the middle of April, it is normally a good idea to head south to Tessin in southern Switzerland to enjoy early spring time hikes. Spring flowers, warm air and a touch of Italy. Bellissimo!
